Bao Bao Shawl
A fun triangular shawl, perfect for playing with color and new stitches. A great spring piece that can transition into summer too. The dip stitch stripe pattern creates a fun, all-over retro look, and a very cool texture. This piece is a playground with lots of opportunities for creativity for customization and stash-busting too.
SKILL LEVEL: LEVEL 2/Intermediate (Adventurous Beginners Welcome too!)
MATERIALS (kindly purchase all materials from Hooked at least 1 hour prior to the first class):
Pattern: Bao Bao Shawl Pattern (on Ravelry)
Yarn: Heavy Fingering or Sport Weight weight yarn* - Pattern calls for 3 colors: C1 - 394 yards (360m), C2 - 372 yards (340m), C3 - 142 yards (130m)
Knitting Needles: US 4 (3.5mm), 40-inch (100cm) long circulars or size needed to obtain gauge (20 sts x 36 rows = 4" (10cm) square in dip stitch stripe pattern after blocking)
Tools/Notions: scissors, measuring tape, stitch markers, and darning needle.
*We will have some ideas/recommendations for you in the shop (Veluna, Novita Helene, Cashmereno Sport, Nomad, Cotton Kiss)
** This piece can also be made in light DK weight yarn, but the quantities may differ slightly.
