Mitered Knitting Workshop

In this 2-hour workshop, you'll get up and running on making the Better Mitered Baby Blanket from Allison Worthing. With that, you’ll be introduced to the concept of knitting a mitered square. The beauty of this technique is that you can use up as much yarn as you have; stopping at a baby blanket, or continuing on until you run out of yarn (leaving some for binding off, of course).

You will not be expected to finish the blanket in class, but rather you’ll get some tips on making the project, and have the confidence to complete it at your one pace.

Materials

- Pattern: Better Mitered Baby Blanket by Allison Worthing (available here)
- Yarn: About 450 yards of bulky weight yarn (i.e. Berroco Vintage Chunky); use more yarn for a bigger blanket. You are free to use just one color or multiple colors (the in-store sample is made with four colors).
- Needles:  US 10.5 (start with 24”, using a longer cable as the blanket gets bigger will be helpful)
- Stitch markers (circular and locking)
- Tapestry needle (needed for weaving in ends)
