Autumn Shawl

In this project-based class, you'll learn:
- Entrelac patterning
- Picking up edge stitches
- Knitting backwards
- Wool splicing,
- Color changes if needed,
- Finishing triangles for anyone doing a scarf
An alternate edging pattern will be provided by the instructor, as will a copy of the knitted-on version of the original from Ravelry user CanAm.
Materials:
- A dk non-superwash wool recommended. This also looks lovely in a single solid or tonal color, and the pattern can be manipulated to display diamond-shaped rows of different colors, or zigzag rows. Noro Tsubami was used in the pictured sample (2 balls)
- Needle/hook: US 6/ 4mm circular, from 32” for shawl to us 9/ 60” for edging, crochet hook of similar size to knitting needles
- Locking stitch markers
- Crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Gauge: Not critical. Roughly 20 st x 28 rows
Please bring your cast-on project of 200 stitches. Please ALSO bring an extra set of needles, light-colored yarn (not fuzzy!) in US 6 or larger, with 15 stitches cast on. We will use this to practice knitting backwards before using it on the shawl.

NOTE: We will meet weekly for first two weeks, then have a two week gap between the 2nd and 3rd and 4th weeks. There may be an optional project class into a 5th class to work on the edging and/or end triangles, if needed.
